Stephanie Barnett, a long-time resident of Caliente, originally owned the business in 1996. She sold it and then bought it back four years ago.
Owning a restaurant is a busy life style, but one that Barnett enjoys.
“Pretty much every day you can expect the unexpected,” she said.
Keeping a restaurant going in a small town isn’t the easiest venture, but Barnett has managed to make it work. She said busy summers make up for slower winters. Visitors to the community – tourists, race enthusiasts, and other events bring in a lot of of business.
“We’re just really proud for the fact we’ve survived this many years,” Barnett said.
Barnett does what she can to support the community by donating lunches and dinners for raffels and events.
The Brandin Iron is open every day from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. Breakfast is served all day.
