Today in Lincoln County – September 28-29 2012

On Friday, the 4-H Gardening Club will be meeting at 8:30 a.m. at the Caliente Cooperative Extension office. ?Then at 3:30 p.m., the Gardening Club will be having its Farmers’ Market, also at the Coopereative Extension Office.

It’s a busy day of sports. ?Lincoln County High School is hosting Needles. ?Volleyball begins at 3 p.m. and football starts at 4 p.m. ?Meanwhile, the LCHS Cross Country team will travel to the Cedar Invite, which starts at 3 p.m.

In Alamo, Pahranagat Valley hosts Sandy Valley. ?Volleyball begins at 4 p.m. ?And the Panther Football unveils its new football field and grand stand as they take on Sandy Valley at 7 p.m. ?Crews have been working daily for months to have the project ready for tonight – with many volunteer hours being put in.

On Saturday, the Pahranagat Valley Wildlife Refuge is hosting a Nature Photography Workshop at 9:30 p.m. ?International nature photographer Sharon K. Schafer is offering a free workshop demonstrating how to “see nature with an artist’s eye and create spectacular images”.

Finally, Alamo 4-H Shooting Sports Club will be meeting at 3 p.m. at the Meldrum Ranch.
