As usual, it is a busy week in Lincoln County. A little unusual is how cold it is outside! Yes, we do experience cold weather here in Lincoln County, but this seems out of control! A local resident had the temperature on Caliente Summit at -6°F early this morning.
The Weather Channel’s 5 Day Forecast has a high Monday at 18°F and a low of 3°F in Pioche. Highs in Panaca and Caliente are forecasted to be in the high 20’s and lows just under 10 degrees. Alamo should expect a high of 31 and low in the mid-teens.
Things should begin warming up as the week moves on. Tuesday highs are expected get in the high 20’s in Pioche, high 30’s in Caliente and Panaca and low 40’s in Alamo. Pioche should see temps in the high 30’s the rest of the week, Caliente and Panaca in the high 40’s and Alamo in the low 50’s. But it will still dip below freezing in all communities at night.
If you’re looking for a little snow to go with the icy temperatures, you’ll likely be disappointed, as the Weather Channel predicts little to no chance of precipitation in all our communities. But hey, they’ve been wrong before.
