Let’s see what Lincoln County is doing to stay busy during this warm week.
Weather
Pioche?can expect a sunny week with temperatures starting in the low 80s and wind speeds up to 17 mph. ?It will cool off on Wednesday to about 60 and warm up to the high 60s to low 70s for the rest of the week with no chance of rain.
Caliente and Panaca?will start the week in the high 80s with wind speeds from 11 to 16 mph. ?It will cool down to the low 70s by Wednesday, but will likely get back up to the low 80s by Friday.
Pahranagat Valley?is expected to start the week with temperatures in the low 90s and wind speeds up to 14 mph. ?Temperatures will drop to the 70s by Wednesday, but expected to reach the mid 80s for the rest of the week, with low wind speeds and low cloud coverage.
Schools
Monday at 9 a.m. the county’s 4th through 6th graders will meet in Panaca for the County Track and Field Day.
On Tuesday, PVHS and LCHS Baseball and Softball will be playing each other in Panaca with games starting at 5:30 p.m.
Also on Tuesday,?PVES Parenting Class: “Love and Logic” will be starting at 9 a.m. all parents are invited with child care provided.
Also, ?Virgin Valley High School Choir will be performing at PVHS starting at 9 a.m.
Friday, LCHS Baseball will be playing at Agassi and LCHS Softball will be playing at Calvary Chapel, both games starting at 1 p.m.
Also on Friday, PVHS Baseball and Softball will be playing Tonopah starting at 1 p.m. and PVHS Track will be at the Grant Bushman Invitational in Moapa Valley.
Where the Bison Roamed
Cathedral Gorge State Park Visitor Center is hosting an interpretative talk titled “Where the Bison Roamed” on Friday at 6 p.m. ?Attendees will learn how Bison used to roam this area. ?Admission is free.
Best in the Desert Race
Desert racers will gather in Alamo on Saturday for the annual Best in the Desert Race. ?Motorcylces, ATVs and quads will start at 6 a.m. ?Cars and trucks will start at 7 a.m. ?The race goes through Caliente, Panaca, Castleton, and will finish at the Delamar Airport.
Catch a $50K Fish
Echo Canyon and Spring Valley State Parks are hosting the $50K Fishing Derby Saturday and Sunday, starting at 8 a.m. both days. ?Anglers of all ages are invited to come for this annual fishing tournament. ?The one who catches the right fish wins $50,000. ?Cost to enter is $30.
Seniors
Monday, Caliente Senior Center will be playing Pinochle at 2 p.m.
Tuesday and Thursday, the Pahranagat Valley Senior Center will have their Senior Center Exercise Classes at 9 a.m.
On Friday, the Caliente Senior Center will be having Friday Crafters at 6 p.m.
Sunday, the Caliente Senior Center will have Potluck Bingo at 12:30 p.m.
Seniors 60+ can enjoy lunch Monday through Friday at the Panaca Senior Center for $3 – $4, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
American Legion

Health Nurse
The Public Health Nurse will be in Alamo on Monday.
Libraries
On Wednesday, the Pahranagat Valley Library will have Story Time at 3 p.m.
