Lincoln County Happenings: Week of May 27, 2013

Happy Memorial Day! ?We’d like to give our thanks to all those who have served in protecting our great nation. ?Fire up your barbecues, and enjoy your day off. ?Let’s see what Lincoln County has going on after the long weekend.

Weather

Pioche??should start the week in the high 70s with mostly sunny skies. ?Tuesday is expected to drop to the high 60s with wind speeds up to 12 mph, but temperatures are going to rise again and are likely to hit the low 80s by Sunday.

Caliente?and?Panaca?will have mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the low 80s and wind speeds between 7 and 13 mph for the week, until Sunday where it is expected to reach the low 90s.

Pahranagat Valley?will have a sunny week with temperatures in the low 80s to start the week, and will rise to the mid 80s by Thursday. ?Sunday is expected to get up to the low 90s with wind speeds up to 8 mph.

Schools

Congratulations to the graduating classes of 2013!

Monday, there will be no school.

Sstudents and teachers will be done for the year on Thursday. ?We hope they enjoy their summer vacations.

Seniors

Tuesday and Thursday, the Pahranagat Valley Senior Center will have their Senior Center Exercise Classes at 9 a.m.

Thursday, Caliente Senior Center will be playing bingo at 12:45 p.m.

Saturday at 6 p.m. Caliente Senior Center will be playing Poker.

LCAT

Thursday, there will a meeting for Lincoln Communities Action Team starting at 6:30 a.m. in Caliente, with a video connection at the PVHS library.

TRAILS DAY

This Saturday is Lincoln County Trails Day in Pioche. ?Hike, Bike, or Ride. ?Register Today, 877-870-3003.

UNCE

4-H Shooting Clubs, Wood Carving Club, and Peewee Soccer, with so many events this week, stay on track with our calendar at LCCentral.com

Government

On Wednesday, there will be a City Council Meeting in the Caliente Council Chambers.

Farmer’s Market

Thursday, will be the Caliente Famer’s Market starting at 3 pm.

Saturday, Panaca will have their farmer’s market in front of the Historic Pioche School from 10 am to 11:30 am.

Libraries

On Wednesday, the Pahranagat Valley Library will have Story Time at 3 p.m.
