Dear Editor,
The City of Caliente looks quite nice with their street lights, trees, grass, planters, and plants lining Main and other streets. When the businesses and homes along north Main St. get their yards and businesses looking as good it will additionally add beauty and order to the city. The giant American flag is also wonderful to see.
When our family visited the Veteran?s Memorial cemetery on Memorial Day it was disgraceful to see the condition of the American flag. Tattered and torn doesn?t even describe what it looked like. I am hoping that homes, businesses, town, city, state, and governmental agencies will pay attention to the condition of the flags that they are flying and replace the old and worn out flags, especially before Flag Day and the 4th of July. It is the least we can do to show our love for the ?land of the free and home of the brave.?
Sincerely,
Linda Lee
Dear Editor,
I?m writing this letter because of what happened at the City Council meeting on Thursday [June 6] night. I was so shocked and embarrassed by some of the actions of the people in the City Hall. An apology letter on Facebook was posted later, but blamed ?the people,? for their actions. They are representing our city, they should watch her actions.
Thanks,
Helen Lundren, Caliente
