As I have said many times in my past letters in the paper, everyone needs to work together to see that our little city is being taken care of properly and by the City Charter, and not what the city wants to do. See what the difference is when everyone works together. Our journey is not over, it is just beginning. The new officers took office July 1 and still need our help, so please, don?t let them down.

Let?s talk for a moment about the City Charter. This was done by the State of Nevada Legislature. It is called, ?Caliente City Charter? Chapter 31, Statutes of Nevada, 1971. The charter was approved March 9, 1971, and was revised on Nov. 7, 2011 by the legislature.

If anyone would like to get a copy of this charter, I think it would help everyone to understand things better. You can get a copy of it on the internet. If you can?t get it for whatever reason, I will be glad to help you get one. All you have to do is call me at 775-726-3503.

I would like to take this opportunity to personally congratulate the new officers of the city and wish them well in their new endeavor.

And if we are called upon by one of them for our help, let?s help to make a better place for us all to live.
