Virginia ?Judy? Summerlin

Virginia ?Judy? Summerlin passed away May 12 in Hayden, Idaho. Judy moved to Hayden, Idaho from Pioche. In March of 2013 to live with her daughter Judy and son-in-law, Jim, after a lengthy stay in the hospital in Caliente, Nev.

Judy was born July 9, 1924, in Eatondale, Calif., to Frank and Holly. Frank and Holly had two children, Frank and Virginia (Judy).

Judy had three children: her sons Jerry and Frank, and daughter Judy.

Judy was preceded in death by her mother Holly, father Frank, brother Frank of Pioche, husband Glenn of Pioche and son Jerry.

Judy is survived by her daughter Judy and son-in-law Jim; her son, Frank and daughter-in-law Cathy; Glenn?s daughter, Toni; four grandchildren: Darrell, Damon, Rory (Darren) and Shannon (Rick); 10 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Glenn and Judy moved to Pioche in 1979 to join their friends Jim and France McCain, in retirement. After moving to Pioche, Judy and Glenn made many new friends, many life long.

They loved Pioche. It was home to both of them from day one. They spent a lot of time in the early days with friends on day trips to the valley, filled with fishing and picnics. They enjoyed exploring

Nevada and Utah in their camper.

Judy had many jobs in the 30-plus years that she resided in Pioche. One of her first jobs was delivering ?Meals on Wheels?? to the senior citizens. She worked in the Shake Shack and numerous other jobs.

The job she enjoyed the most was working with Connie Simkins, folding, bundling and labeling the local newspaper for delivery and mailing all over the world.

Judy wanted to live her last days in Pioche as that was her home. That was not in God?s plan for her. In mid-September, Judy?s family will bring her home to Pioche. The family will have a Celebration of Life for Judy in Pioche. We hope you can attend.

Judy, Jim and our family would like to send a special ?thank you? to the many that gave us so much help in moving Judy to Idaho. We could not have made the move without all the help that the giving people of Pioche so selflessly offered.
