School Enrollment Figures
Enrollment figures for the Lincoln County School District show a total of 965 students. The district had about 970 in 2012.

The list is as follows as of Sept. 23:

Caliente Elementary, 122; Panaca Elementary, 100; Pahranagat Valley Elementary, 133; Pioche Elementary, 77; Meadow Valley Middle, 96; Pahranagat Valley Middle, 65; Lincoln County High, 160; Pahranagat Valley High, 75; and C.O. Bastian High, 137.

September marks National Preparedness Month
“YOU can be the hero,” was this year’s theme for the National Preparedness Month (NPM). The NPM is now in it’s tenth year as a nationwide, month-long effort that encourages households, businesses and communities to prepare and plan for emergencies.

Information about building an emergency kit, making plans and getting involved can be found at the ready.gov website. The site also offers tips on storing your emergency kit, water and food, as well as a checklist for your disaster kit.
