The Lincoln County High volleyball team hosted the Laughlin Cougars for Homecoming at the Rick Phillips Gym in Panaca on Sept. 27. The Lady Lynx opened the first match beating the Cougars 25-12 in the first game and finished out the second game 25-14 to sweep the first match. Chelsea Lloyd had six kills and one dig while Kayla Mathews added three kills and one block. Kaitlin Cheeney had six assists, while Chesnee Harding added five assists and three digs in the opening match.
Laughlin won the flip and elected to serve to begin the second match and opened with two quick points before Lincoln answered with a 16-point run. With the score 19-7 the game had to be stopped for an injury to a Laughlin player, and after play was restarted the Lady Lynx finished out the first game of the second match by a score of 25-14. Lincoln jumped into a 20-6 lead in the final game. Laughlin scored four more but were unable to match the Lady Lynx, losing 25-10 on a service ace. Kaylee Teel had four kills with two service aces and Hannah Hafen had three kills and a block. Chesnee Harding served up two aces, two kills and added five assists while Kaitlin Cheeney contributed four assists in the nightcap.
The wins move the Lady Lynx record to 13-7 overall (4-2 league).
