Two Pahranagat Valley High wrestlers placed first in the Centennial High School Invitational Dec 20-21 in Las Vegas.

Jeremy Minick (138) and Mateo Linares (220) both won their respective divisions. “Both were 4-0,” said Pahranagat coach Brad Loveday. Other PVHS wrestlers participated, he said, but did not place in the 16-team tournament, composed mostly of Las Vegas schools, except for Pahranagat and Indian Springs.

“It was good for the kids,” said Loveday, “good competition with a lot of matches with kids we won’t see during the (league) season. A well run tournament with a lot of matches for the kids right before Christmas break.”

Pahranagat’s next matches will be during the Panther Invitational in Alamo Jan. 10.
