
Evelyn Hannig?
A 61-year resident of Las Vegas, Nevada Evelyn Hannig, 92, died peacefully in her sleep on Monday, Jan. 13, 2014 at 4:30 p.m. at Prestige Senior Living in Henderson, Nev. She was born in Sacramento, Calif. on Feb. 27, 1922 to Max and Annie Richter.
She moved to Pioche in 1935 where she met and married her beloved husband of 62 years, James Ross Hannig, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Marsha Hannig Pippin; her three dear friends of 73 years: Pete, Sue and Esther; members of the Hannig family and many more loving friends.
She was employed at JC Penney in Las Vegas for 20 years until her retirement in 1984.
Evelyn loved to travel, tap dance and make beautiful ceramics. She also enjoyed sharing wonderful stories that she acquired during her lifetime.
There will be no services held locally. There will be a graveside service at the St. Laurence Cemetery in Pioche on Monday, Jan. 20, at 1 p.m. where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Ross.
A celebration of her life is planned for Saturday, Feb. 8 in Las Vegas for family and friends. Evelyn will be dearly missed by all.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer?s Association in lieu of flowers.
