William ?Bill? E. Lucht
William E. Lucht, ?Bill,? died Thursday, May 8, at the age of 68, in St. George, Utah. He was born Aug. 7, 1945 in Jefferson, Iowa to Eddie William Albert Lucht and Myrtle Lorraine Johnson Lucht. He graduated from high school in 1963 in Scranton, Iowa. He lived in Iowa on the family farm from 1970 to 1984, then farmed elsewhere before moving to Nevada in 1985 and settling in Caliente.?
Bill worked as the parts man at Lee Automotive for 18 years, and was well known in the community as a shade tree mechanic. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved fishing and camping, but was never happier than when he was in a tractor farming.
Bill truly cherished time spent with family and friends. He enjoyed a cup of coffee at our local restaurants daily and a good chat with anyone willing to listen.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; and a niece and nephew in Iowa.
Survivors include a son and a daughter: John Adam Lucht and Kelly Jean Lucht of Pioche; two grandchildren; two sisters: Lorraine Sump (Wayne) and Joyce Nehring (widow) of Storm Lake, Iowa; and many other relatives in the surrounding Iowa area.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 17 at 1 p.m. at the Baptist Church in Caliente.
