This year, Creative Artists of Lincoln County hosted a sesquicentennial art show event to coincide with Panaca’s birthday celebration. The top award, Best of Show, was received by Sandy Palacious, of Summit, Utah, for her piece titled Ezekiel 34.
Three judges each gave their own special award for their favorite piece. The winners of the judge’s award were Ty Vinney, formerly from Panaca, with Elohim’s Aquilegia, Barbara Rohde of Panaca with St. Nick’s Dream, and Lana Hermansen of Eagle Valley with her piece titled Elk.
Awards were also given to the best themed pieces, regardless of artists’ medium used. This year’s theme was, “Nevada- Past, Present and Future.” Vinney took first place with his piece, Fire in the Sky.
