Ruben Joseph Griffin was born July 22, 1942 in Arkansas, and died in Caselton, Nev. On Oct. 3.

Ruben was in the United States Army and served in Germany in the early 1960s. Ruben?s mother, Fannie, and his step-father Al Ferguson, moved to Panaca, and Ruben spent many years living in and out of Lincoln County until the early 1990s, when he finally decided to live here permanently.

Ruben worked as a mechanic for a number of ranchers in the Pioche area, and finally settled down as a watchman in 2010 for the Lincoln County Power District.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis, and his brother, John ?Willie.?
