Two occupants of a one-vehicle rollover last Thursday were life flighted to Las Vegas by Mercy Air.

Nevada Highway Patrol reported the accident happened about 4:45 p.m. just west of the Pahroc Summit on U.S. 93.
A southbound white 2012 Chrysler 300 sedan went off the right side of the highway, overcorrected coming across to the left side, and rolled over at least once and possibly several times.

The vehicle was occupied by two men and two women from Ely. Names and ages were not given.

None of the victims were ejected in the rollover, but two of the occupants suffered injuries sufficient enough that Mercy Air was called in with two helicopters. Meadow Valley Ambulance along with Pahranagat Valley Fire and Ambulance responded. The driver was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated. No report was given on the extent or nature of the injuries. The lesser injuries were transported in the ambulance.

NHP said the driver was suspected of driving under the influence. A blood draw was obtained on scene, and NHP said charges may be filed later after the toxicology reports are returned.

Reports taken from the witness who arrived on scene just after the accident said they saw beer cans and/or bottles being thrown out of the overturned vehicle.
