Lincoln County’s girls cross country team closed out the season at the NIAA State Cross Country championships at Sunset Park in Las Vegas by taking sixth place with 171 points in Division III. North Tahoe won the meet with 46 points.

Madison Mathews was the first runner for the Lynx, in 29th place in a time for the 5,000 meters of 24:17.7. Amy Thomas was 36th in 25:23.2, Sydney Anderson 43rd in 29:32, Mayah Hafen, 44th in 32:22.2, and Ally Wadsworth 45th in 33:37.3.

North Tahoe also won the Division III boys championship with 31 points. Lincoln’s only entry in the boys race, Alex Gomez, placed 33rd in 20:48.1.
