The Pahranagat Valley Panther Duels were held Tuesday this week in Alamo.

Four teams were involved Lincoln County, Agassi Prep, Spring Mountain and PVHS.

For the Panthers Salvador Heredia was 4-2, 4th place, Oscar Heredia 6-2, but did not place, Danny Heredia, 5-0, first place, David Ingram, out with a broken thumb, Garrett Bowen, 4-3 and fourth place, Thayne Solorio, 2-5, did not place, Caleb Hansen and Chris Thornton were both 1-4 and did not place, Austin Horrocks, 7-0, first place, and Mateo Linares, 6-1, second place.

No individual results were reported from Lincoln County.

Team scores were Pahranagat Valley 36 – Aggasi Prep 33; Pahranagat Valley 46 – Spring Mountain 24, and Pahranagat Valley 36 – Lincoln County 41

Last week at the Milford, Utah tournament, the Lincoln Lynx fared well yet again.

Coach Steve Culverwell said they had five men place. Frank Barrett, fourth at 152, Will Culverwell, second at 145, Derek Mathews second at 126, Zach Rowe third at 120, and Alex Samson first at 132.

Culverwell said Samson, a sophomore, was the outstanding wrestler of the tournament. “Experience is making the change for him this year. It takes time to pick it up and he is getting better all the time, and I think he is now 16-4 on the season.”

No report was available from the Western Warrior Rumble last week in Las Vegas where Pahranagat Valley participated.

After the Panther Duels, Lincoln enters a tournament in Enterprise, Utah Jan. 23-24, and PVHS participated in the Sunrise Mountain Duels in Las Vegas Jan. 22.
