Connie Naomi Miller, 75, of Henderson passed away on Jan. 17 peacefully with her children at her side. She was born in Caliente to Ida (Zabriski) and Duard Stewart on Nov. 1, 1939. She attended school in Pioche and later moved to Klamath Falls, Ore. where she graduated high school.

In her junior year of high school, she began corresponding with a sailor also from Klamath Falls, William (Bill) Miller. They married the month that Connie graduated high school and moved to San Diego, Calif.. After Bill was deployed to Japan, Connie moved back to Klamath Falls where their children, Bryan, Robin and Rhonda were born.

After the kids all grew up, another career opportunity opened for Bill and the two of them moved to the Philippine Islands were they lived for nine years until the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo. Upon their return from the Philippine?s they retired in Henderson, where her mother and sister lived.

While in Henderson, Connie and Bill celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Lake Las Vegas with family and close friends, many of whom were made while in the Philippines.

Connie loved animals and it showed not only with the loving care given to her own dogs, but with her faithful donations to a variety of organization?s set up to rescue animals of all types. She had a talent for writing poetry, a love for putting puzzles together and was a kind, giving person.

She is survived by her children, James Bryan Miller (Linda), Kalamazoo, Mich., Robin Miller, Henderson, Rhonda McDaniel, (Terry) Grand Forks, N.D.; brother, Barry Stewart (Andra), Dayton, Texas; grandchildren, Derrick Byzewski, Dylan McDaniel (Laura), Austin McDaniel (Emily), and Kaitlyn McDaniel; great-grandchildren Easton Byzewski and Brookston McDaniel; a special aunt, Stella?Zabriskie; and her very special pets, Summer and Suni.
