Local athletes compete at state track meet

Lincoln County boys earned 46 points for 8th place at the State Track and Field meet at Del Sol High in Las Vegas last weekend. The Lincoln girls had 23 points for ninth place in the women?s meet.

Pahranagat Valley boys had nine points, and the girls scored 18 points.

Lincoln?s two men?s relay teams took a second and third place medal. The 4×200 team of Will Culverwell, Landen Smith, Tyler Frehner and Sam Anderson took second place, just edging out Pershing County. Lincoln finished in 1:36.05 and Pershing County in 1:36.18.

The same Lincoln team took third place in the 4×400, this time edging out The Meadows. Lincoln was 3:37.01 and The Meadows was 3:37.14.
