Nevada Cooperative Extension 4-H leader Anna Gloeckner notes she is conducting the “Little Books and Little Cooks” program this summer in Lincoln County.
It is a free seven-week parenting education workshop series for preschool age children (3-5 years old) and their parents.

Gloeckner said all parents/guardians are welcome to come.

The program is being funded by the U.S.D.A’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, which provides nutritional information to people with low income.
She said the program will involve parents learning the joy of cooking with their children, learn about healthy eating and preparing the little ones for school with fun reading, math and science activities.

The program will be conducted each Thursday from now until July 9 at 11 a.m. in the pre-school room at the Caliente Elementary School, in Pioche each Friday at 11 a.m. from June 5 through July 10 in the gym at the Pioche Elementary School, in Panaca each Monday at 11 a.m. from June 22 -through Aug. 3 in the multi-purpose room at Panaca Elementary, and each Tuesday at 11 a.m. from June 23 through Aug. 4 in the basement kitchen at the Christian Bible Fellowship Church in Alamo.
