Melanie Devaney will once again grace the Thompson Opera House stage on June 27. Pioche is one of the many stops during her countrywide, summer tour. Devaney was the first paid act hosted at the Opera House. The show drew more than one hundred guests.
Leslie Derkovitz is confident this year’s show will be even better. “I received a lot of compliments from spectators last time as they exited the Opera House. I did, however, hear two negative comments that were echoed in unison by several guests; some had trouble hearing in the rear of the Opera House and most felt the seats were too uncomfortable for that long of a show. Those issues have been resolved. Since the last time she performed here, we have replaced the chairs with padded ones and replaced the sound system with a new, top-of-the-line system.”
Devaney has been featured on CMT, as well as many other music media outlets. A representative from the Julian Music Festival had this to say about her: “New to the San Diego music scene, Melanie Devaney wowed the audience with a a vocal range that had to be heard to be believed. Not only did she sing, she captured the hearts and minds of the audience with her talent on both the guitar and the keyboards. This girl has it all!”
Tickets are $10 and currently being sold at Tillies, The Y and Pioneer Pizza. They will also be sold at the door.
