The new temple will serve members of the church from the Panaca, Nevada Stake, which encompasses all of Lincoln County. The temple will also serve church members in Ely and several areas throughout Southern Utah.
Attendance to the groundbreaking and site dedication is by invitation only, but the event will be broadcast live to the Panaca Stake Center, according to an announcement released by the temple’s groundbreaking committee.
“All are invited to participate in the broadcast of this historic occasion,” the committee stated. “Sunday dress is appropriate.”
The temple will be built on a 7.3 acre site on South Cove Drive. It will stand four stories high and be nearly 43,000 square feet.
