Pioche held its annual water balloon fight on Aug. 15 – the last day of summer vacation for the kids and one of the hottest days Pioche has seen for weeks. Few activities allow one to get some exercise outside and stay cool at the same time, especially when the temperature is pushing into the mid 90s. What started as a fun idea, has now become a summer staple in Pioche.
Hundreds of balloons were ready for launch when the kids arrived, thanks to Dave and Halli Cox, who organize this event each summer and were pleased with the turnout this time. “We had about 40 to 50 kids participating this year,” Halli said. “We had a lot of fun and really appreciate the help and support from the parents, kids and community this and every year.”
If you missed out this year, don’t worry. The balloons will fly again.
