The Pioche Town Board will recommend to the county commission board at the Sept. 7 meeting giving the Pioche Public Utilities full-time employees a three percent cost of living increase.
It’s been eight years for some employees, stated utilities manager Nathan Adams at the Aug. 11 meeting. He said the reason raises have not be requested before now is because the employees realize the financial burden the county has been it over the last few years.
Chairman John Christian said, while this might squeeze the budget some, he doesn’t feel a three percent raise is out of the question.
Vice-chair Cindy Free asked if the employees that are topped out on their pay scales would also receive the increase. Christian said yes they would, as the increases would be even across the board.
It was approved to have the increase request be made retroactive to July 1, 2015.
