MarianOBIT Young-MarianOBIT2Marian Bailey Hull Sparrow Gooch died Oct. 22, 2015, in Alamo at age 75 after a valiant battle with cancer.

I was born a Yankee Doodle Sweetheart on July 4, 1940, in Ogden, Utah. I am the fifth of seven children born to Robert Rigby and Grace Evelyn Bailey Hull. I attended Ogden city schools including Weber College. I graduated from Utah State Agricultural College with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1962. I married Ronald Vern Sparrow, and we were blessed with two beautiful daughters in those early years. I taught Business at local schools in Ogden. We moved to Elko, Nevada, in 1966 where I gave birth to our wonderful son a few years later. I began teaching Business at Elko High School in 1970. Tragedy struck our family when Ron died in 1975. I moved my little family to Alamo, Nevada, in 1978 where I taught Business and English at Pahranagat Valley High School for the next twenty-two years. I earned a Master?s degree in computers before retiring in 2000. I met and married Thomas Lloyd Gooch of Helena, Montana, in 2002. Tom and I traveled extensively, especially attending all our families? functions. We were thrilled to serve a Family History Mission in the Tahiti Papeete Mission in 2004. We enjoyed being Temple workers in both the Las Vegas and Billings Montana temples. I love the gospel and was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all my life, serving in many different callings. Thank you so much to all my wonderful caregivers: Doctors Akerly and Jensen and their staffs, Hunstman Cancer Institute, and Judy, Tracie, and Donna of Comfort Hospice.

I am survived by my loving children; DeAnn (Jeff) Peterson, North Ogden, UT, Jill (Jeff) Miller, Idaho Falls, ID, Michael (Tracy) Sparrow, Hiko, NV, Randall (Tanya) Gooch, Idaho Falls, ID, Heather Todd, Helena, MT, Hayley (Deaver) Probst, Honesvale, PA, Sean Gooch, Helena, MT, Shea Gooch, Reno, NV, twenty-three grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. Also, I am survived by two sisters and two brothers; Maxine Poulsen, Alamo, NV, Nila (Chuck) Padelsky, So. Ogden, UT, Kenneth (RaMona) Hull, Tremonton, UT, Melvin (Judy) Hull, Hooper, UT.

I was preceded in death by my parents, husband Ron, sister, Kate Evelyn Wright, brother Bill Hull and Tom?s infant children; Thomas, Paul, Shauna and Mary Kay Gooch.
