Residents had a great time at the 2015 Halloween Ball, put on by the Caliente Community Methodist Church on Oct. 28 at the old stone church.
The night started off with a costume contest with the kids displaying some great costumes. A few adults dressed up as well. There was hot chocolate and candy, music and a few people got up and sang karaoke. The kids all were dancing and having a good time.
The event was part of the church’s second annual Pumpkin Patch, which included various activities. Kids from all over the county came to join in on the fall fun. This year there were over 300 kids for the elementary school pumpkin patch’s crafts, maz, and puppet show. A few days earlier, there was a pumpkin cook off. There were strange dishes from a few county cooks.
A carved/painted pumpkin contest was held on Oct. 29 and was the final Pumpkin Patch event of the year.
