The Democratic Central Committee had their second meeting November 7 at the Olson Senior Center in Caliente.
The committee was formed to inform and discuss the election and candidates for 2016. It is part of the state Democratic Party and supports and endorses the party’s candidates. A campaign representative from the Hillary Clinton campaign was at the meeting to show support.
The group was created by Bill Hartman to bring Democrats, and just about anyone, together to discuss and strategize on how to reach more of the Democratic supporters in Lincoln County.
Upcoming meetings will take place on the first Saturday of every month at 11 a.m. at the Olsen Senior Center. Residents from all political persuasions are invited to have some coffee and discuss political views and give some opinions on what’s good for the county.
There is also a county caucus coming up in February. Catherine Cortez Masto, a Democrat running for the United States Senate, will be having a roadshow at the Pioche Opera House and surprises for the community are promised.
