U-Haul Company of Nevada has announced two new neighborhood dealers in Lincoln County.
Tillies in Pioche and Caliente Auto Repair & Service will both offer U-Haul trucks, trailers, towing equipment, support rental items and pre-tow inspections.
Tillies partners Ed and Malinda Wright, and Halli Cox, along with Caliente Auto Repair & Service owner Victor Jones, are proud to team with the industry leader in do-it-yourself moving and self-storage to better meet the demands of Lincoln County.
Both local businesses are striving to benefit the environment through sustainability initiatives. Truck sharing is a core U-Haul sustainability business practice that allows individuals to access a fleet of trucks that is larger than what they could access on an individual basis.
Jones said, “In our case it is to provide a service to the community. And we have done quite a bit in the past month or so.”
He also said new outlets have to go through a special online training course. “You have to go through what they call U-Haul University, about 20 hours worth of study, and you have to pass all the classes before you are given your license.”
Ruth Scott, speaking on behalf of Tillies, said they were approached by Ben Nagy, U-Haul area field manager and asked to consider becoming an outlet.
Nagy said the company was looking for someone in the Pioche area who could provide that service, so people wouldn’t always have to go to Panaca to get the needed equipment.
Hours of operation at Tillies in Pioche will be 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week, and at Caliente Auto Repair & Service from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. After hours drop-off is available for customer convenience.
