Team Excel performs a dance at the Caliente tree lighting ceremony at the Caliente Depot Saturday.
The annual tree lighting ceremony in Caliente Saturday evening included treats, music and dancing and of course a visit from you-know-who.
The evening started of with the lighting of the tree at the Caliente Depot, followed with Keith Larson singing “I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas.” Then Anna Gloeckner performed the song “Lincoln County Christmas.”
Two groups of young dancers performed. Team Excel danced to a hip hop Christmas song, with a crowd-pleasing dance choreographed just for the lighting ceremony. Team Extreme performed a trio dance choreographed by the girls themselves. It was a beautiful dance starting out with a little ballet and leading into some hip hop moves.
After that Santa arrived to see the children and find out what was on their Christmas lists this year. There was hot cocoa and some yummy Christmas cookies out for everyone and Santa to enjoy.
