A benefit fundraiser will take place at the Pahranagat Valley High School basketball games this Saturday for Tyce Campbell, second from left, who is fighting cancer.

A special benefit fundraiser for Tyce Campbell will be held this Saturday during the Pahranagat Valley games with Virgin Valley.

Tyce, 2, is the son of former PVHS standout Amy Higbee and her husband Brad Campbell. Amy was a member of four consecutive girls state championship basketball teams, 2003-2006.

Tyce was diagnosed with cancer last July, is undergoing an extensive chemotherapy program and needed to have his left leg amputated around the knee. He is expecting to receive a prosthetic Jan. 22.

School principal Mike Strong said a short video, a tribute to the family, will be shown during the girls game, “And we’ll be doing some activities with Tyce in the varsity boys game.”

All the funds raised that night will go to the family. Strong said people can contribute at the front door, “and we’ll do a free throw shoot at halftime of the boy’s game.”
