The Lincoln County High School track team competed at the Milford Invitational on Saturday. The boys team placed fourth out of 15 teams. Several athletes achieved season and career personal records. “All of our kids did a super job and showed true dedication to their sport,” said coach Lacie Pearson. “We have some exceptional talent here.”
Cody Dirks placed fourth in the 3200 meters and fifth in the 1600. Landen Smith was fourth place for the 100 meter dash, third in the 200, and second in the 300 meter hurdles.
Dirks surpassed his previous personal best in the 1600 by five seconds and by 16 seconds for the season in the 3200. Lincoln beat his career personal record by 50 seconds in the 3200. Brooklyn Hafen, Dylan Phillips, Hayden Showell and Kyle Zierow also achieved personal career records. Tyler Frehner, Smith, Phillips and Sam Anderson are leaders in the Southern Division as well.
Both LCHS and PVHS are scheduled to compete at the Richard Lewis Invitational today at Moapa Valley High School.
