The 10th annual Eric M. Lee Memorial 10K run was held Saturday in Alamo.
Organizer Andrea Jorgensen said the run, (walk, jog, ride a bike if you want to) is held in memory of Lee, a Clark County Firefighter and chief of the Pahranagat Valley Volunteer Fire Department, who died in 2006.
A good turnout was on hand for the event through the streets of the town on a bright morning. Jorgensen said they have continued to hold the event because the committee and Lee’s widow, Trisha, decided a few years ago to continue with the run until his youngest child, Madalyn, 11, graduates from high school in 2022. “We are grateful for everyone’s continued support after all these years,” she said.
Proceeds raised from entry fees go to a local scholarship fund at Pahranagat Valley High School. However, Jorgensen noted donations are also received from people who don’t come to the run. She said the committee had ordered about 150 special commemorative T-shirts, but not all were taken.
