The Caliente City Council meeting held on July 21 opened with the approval for Silver State Trailblazers? request to re-route the race course for the Aug. 27 National Hare and Hound Championship, which will be held in Caliente. Regan Gubler presented the details.
The business license for Bright and Shiny Cleaning Services, Eysel Carattini, was approved.
The council spent the majority of the meeting expressing their concerns and sharing of information on preventing the risk of blood borne pathogens. The proper way to dispose of needles and other sharps was a concern. The city has recently become aware of an increase in the amount sharps that are not being properly disposed. This will be an ongoing discussion on how to create a policy for disposal.
The council will hold a special meeting on July 29 at 6 p.m. A closed session will be held to receive information from City Attorney Dylan Frehner pursuant to NRS 241-015(3) (b) (2), regarding potential litigation regarding the city?s hauling contract for solid waste.
Legal action to enforce the city hauling contract for solid waste and other related issues will then be discussed.
Then the council will approve or deny the assignment of the city?s hauling contract for solid waste from Recology, Inc. to Lincoln County.
