Four business licenses were approved by the Caliente City Council at its recent meeting.

Tall Bike ED’s Unlimited plans to have bike rentals, visitors guides, souvenirs and photos.

Three were approved for cleaning services – Kassidi Krreci, Helen Lundgren and Felicia Johnson.

Kathy Cook, Vice President of the Lincoln County Fair Board asked for a donation match of $2,500 to help bring the Riata Ranch Cowboy Girls to perform at the Lincoln County Fair on August 10, 11, and 12. These funds were approved and will come from the room tax funds.

Keith Larson and Christy Blood presented the Memorial Day events, asking approval. They include a BBQ, Train Ride (with extra tires this year), Car Show at C.A.R.S, kids games/rides from Amazing Clowns and a Four Wheeler Barrel Race, pending insurance verification, are being planned.

Ken Dixon will be traveling to Las Vegas for a class on Alluvial Fan Flooding on April 14. Dixon asked the council to have city pay for his travel.

Caliente Elementary asked that the city crew be available in case they are needed when installing the new marques.

Jake Powell, American Conservation, gave a presentation for their plan for Phase 1 of the BLM Mountain Bike Project, Barnes Canyon Trail Network.
