With the sun setting on August 4, a touch of culture came to the Caliente Depot, taking many back in time when families gathered around the radio in their homes and listened to the sound of an orchestra playing. As Tinkle Bass played, the Swallows that nest in the eaves flew around tweeting to the music.
Sitting outside people gathered to listen to Salon Orchestra presented by Tinkle Bass Works out of Las Vegas. Selections from ‘’ The Sound of Music,” “The Mikado” and other hits were played, time passed too fast, according to attendees.
Tinkle Brass Works is a nonprofit that depends on businesses and community leaders for donations. Grants cover only a small part of expenses. The program is funded in part from the National Endowment for the Arts, Union Pacific Foundation, and many donors.
If you would like to contribute to Tinkle Bass Works, you can send a donation to:
Tinkle Bass Works, 4738 Walteta Way, Las Vegas, Nevada 89119. All donations are tax deductible.
Everyone present, even the seven-year-old attending loved “the beautiful music” and wished it lasted longer.
