A young Gingerbread Fun Run participant sprints to the finish line.

The 7th Annual Gingerbread Fun Run/Walk took place Saturday, Nov. 16, in Caliente.

Hayley Gloeckner and her group of motivated people put together the biggest Fun Run yet. With extra time on her hands since retirement from 4-H, Gloeckner hit the pavement running, making phone calls and handing out entry forms wherever she went. Her hard work paid off as there were 204 participants and 26 sponsors this year.

Gloeckner’s right-hand helper, Jaime Wood, brought along Chris Connor, Stevi Gloeckner, Darby Porter, and some new help, Christy Blood, Mikel Wynn, and Anna Perkins.

The money raised will go to Pioche, Panaca, and Caliente elementary schools.

At the end of the race, numbers were drawn and prizes gathered.
