Cheryl Phillips teaches people how to prepare a dish at the Fix’n Feast event put on by the Methodist Church in Caliente.

The Caliente Community United Methodist Church tried something new this season as a part of the outreach program offered by the church: Fix’n Feast. The idea was Rick Phillips’ brain child.

Every year, the church delivers Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets to people in the community that can use a little help. On Sunday, Nov. 18, different people demonstrated how to prepare holiday dishes including turkey, squash, dressing, stuffing, veggies and all the fixings.

After watching the demonstration, the people were able to fill up on all the foods prepared. It was an evening filled with great people and good food.
