Local RPEN officers held the annual quarterly meeting and Christmas party Dec. 8.

On Saturday, Dec. 8, the Retired Public Employees of Nevada (RPEN) in Lincoln County held their quarterly meeting/Christmas party hosted by the Caliente VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Thirty-three members attended the turkey/ham dinner.

President Sarah (Pete) Getker called out tickets as prizes were passed out, later saying that “We need more members as there is talk about doing away with the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS). The larger the membership we have, the more strength we have to protect the future of our retirement and those that will retire in the future.”

Applications to join RPEN can be obtained from Bonni Smith.

RPEN thanked Mary Brose, Junior Vice President of the Auxiliary, and the ladies of the auxiliary for the dinner.
