Lincoln County High School sophomore Alexis Long brings the ball up against The Meadows.

The Lincoln County girls played White Pine High School last Thursday.

White Pine took the lead early and Lincoln was down 12 points by the second quarter. Unable to make a comeback, Lincoln lost, 38-26.

Kendra Mathews had 11 points and Sadie Soderborg had 10.

Lincoln dominated its home game against Meadows on Saturday.

The girls came out swinging, scoring 18 points in the first and keeping Meadows at two. Hailey Hooge kept the ball in the Lynx’s court with her offensive rebounding. Soderborg took the ball coast to coast and put it in for two points.

The second quarter was full of steals and assists for fast breaks. The score at the half was 26-9.

Mathews got in one shot to start off the second half. Soderborg splashed a 3-pointer. Lexi Long stole the ball and took it all the way for a layup. Macie Howard hit a 3-pointer. Natalia Romero put in a layup.

The good defense continued into the fourth quarter and Lincoln won, 54-16.

Mathews had 15 points. Soderborg had 11. Howard had nine.

Lincoln traveled to Needles, CA, to play Needles on Thursday, Dec. 20. They play Laughlin on Friday, Dec. 21.
