After a holiday break, the Lincoln County High School (LCHS) winter sports teams are set to continue their seasons.

The LCHS girls basketball team is 5-7 overall and 3-1 in league play.

Senior Kendra Mathews and junior Sadie Soderborg are leading the way for the Lady Lynx. Mathews is averaging 10.8 points, 8.4 rebounds, 1.6 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game, according to stats compiled by MaxPreps.com. Soderborg is putting up 9.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.6 steals, 4.2 assists, and 1.4 blocks per game.

The LCHS boys are 8-5 overall and also 3-1 in league. Sophomore Cody Zile is averaging 15 points per game, along with 7.1 rebounds, 1.6 steals, and a block, per MaxPreps.com. Senior Alex Vincent is averaging 10.9 points and 1.8 steals, and senior Noah Smith is anchoring the defense with five rebounds and two steals to go along with 6.9 points per game.

Both the girls and boys will play Calvary at home on Jan. 8 with the girls tip-off at 5:30 p.m.

The teams then play at Mountain View and Lake Mead on Jan. 11 and 12.

Lynx wrestlers will head to a tournament in Milford, Utah, on Jan. 5. Pahranagat Valley High’s wrestlers are off this week, preparing to host Lincoln and four other teams at the Pahranagat Valley Invitational on Jan. 12.
