Richard Wallace Cochran

Longtime resident of Pioche Richard Cochran died at his home after a long illness on January 22, 2019.

A retired bookkeeper, he was born at St. Clair Shores, Michigan on March 20, 1930. Dick attended Denby High School in Detroit before enlisting in the US Navy in 1947, serving as a radio and teletype operator. He had twin sons, Dr. Richard Michael Cochran and William Louis Cochran.

Dick was a long-time conservative Republican. He was a hardworking, principled, sometimes infuriatingly stubborn and scrupulously honest man; traits that will long be remembered by those who knew him.One of Dick’s favorite hobbies was growing roses. He would proudly turn hard, unpromising soil to life, enjoying the blossoms of his labor He was a gentle man and he will be missed.
