Lincoln County Sheriff Kerry Lee reported that in the early morning hours of March 11, the sheriff’s department, in conjunction with the Eastern Nevada Narcotic Task Force, arrested 49-year old Tammy Goodwin, a resident of the Ely area, on charges of drug possession.

Goodwin was a passenger in a northbound vehicle that was pulled over by a sheriff’s deputy near mile marker 45, between the Burns Ranch and Ash Springs.

During the stop, the deputy discovered approximately 98 grams (3.45 ounces) of methamphetamines on Goodwin’s person. Further investigation located additional methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.

Goodwin was arrested, taken into custody, transported to Pioche and booked into the Lincoln County Detention Center without incident.

She was charged with trafficking a controlled substance (methamphetamine) over 28 grams, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Goodwin is currently housed at the detention center with bail set at $260,664.

The unnamed driver of the vehicle was found to have had no knowledge of the controlled substance in Goodwin’s possession and was released.
