The Lincoln County High School softball team played the Lake Mead Eagles at home April 5, winning both games, 14-1 and 12-0.
The first game started well for the Lady Lynx.
Junior Macie Howard hit a two-run home run in the second inning to pull the Lynx ahead, followed by senior Laura Pearson’s three-run home run. The team played seven innings with junior Sadie Soderborg pitching. Soderborg struck out ten players in the game and added three runs to the score alongside sophomore Abigail Frehner. The Lynx’s defense was unmatched. However, they did give away one unearned run to the Eagles before ending the game 14-1.
Sophomore Lexi Long pitched in the second game, striking out six players and only giving up one hit. Soderborg had three hits and three RBIs. Senior Kendra Mathews also contributed three RBIs to the win. The Lynx scored nine runs in the fourth inning and were able to keep the Eagles from scoring, ending the game 12-0.
The Lady Lynx are now 6-0 in league play and will travel to Needles April 12 for their next game.
