With spring underway in Lincoln County, and summer right behind, the Lincoln County Authority of Tourism (LCAT) is busy planning and promoting local events.
One of the most notable community events will be the annual Memorial Weekend activities in Caliente May 24-27.

May 4 will also be the Cinco de Mayo “Tacos and Ritas” Spring Social fundraiser presented by the Caliente Beautification Committee, VFW and Shamrock Bar from 6-9 p.m. at the Clock Island in Caliente.
A new event this year is “The Most Wanted Fun Run,” a fundraiser by Lincoln County High School (LCHS) students to raise help Maddy Wright. She is a former Pioche Elementary student who is dealing with some serious medical problems. That event is May 11 at LCHS at 4 p.m.
Other events include the SNORE Caliente 250, May 7-8; free fishing day at State Parks, June 6; and the State Parks Gravel Grinder, June 15 at Beaver Dam State Park. Following that will be the Lincoln County Photo Festival, June 21-22.
Caliente will have a full slate of activities for the annual Memorial Day weekend celebration. There will be a gallery display of the works of local artists, the LCHS graduation in Panaca, May 24; a parking lot dance at the Knotty Pine; the Caliente Memorial Day parade, May 25; a softball tournament at Dixon Memorial Park, May 24-26.
