Pahranagat Valley track teams participated in the White Pine Invitational April 26 in Ely.

On the boys team, Izzy Riera and Ryan Vande Sluis ran second and third in the 300m hurdles, helping the Panthers to earn 61 points in the 12-team field.

For the girls, McKenzie Poulsen won the triple jump and was second in the long jump as the Lady Panthers earned 31½ points.

Before the White Pine Invitational, the Panthers competed in the four-team Mojave Weekday meet at Mojave High School in Las Vegas April 24.

Cole Cannon ran 1:00.56 in the 400 meters. Izzy Riera was second in the 300m hurdles in 45.88 and had a personal best in the long jump of 17-10½.  Kyler Martin had a personal best of 36-08½ in the shot put.

Ethan Baine was fourth in the high jump at 5-08.

For the Panther girls at the Mojave Weekday, McKenzie Poulsen had a personal best of 19.45 in the 100m hurdles, Atlanta Mastin was second in the shot put, 26-09. Poulson was third in the long jump, 14-10, and second in the triple jump with a personal record of 32-01.

May 4 is the Grant Bushman Invitational at Moapa Valley High School with 21 teams expected to compete. The meet usually serves as a tune-up for the NIAA Southern Regional meet May 10-11 also held at Moapa Valley High.
