Nevada State Parks is inviting people to “do something special with your mother this year by taking her outside and enjoying a hike on the Ash Canyon Trail.”

The community is invited to join park staff for a walk along the trail to observe the blooming wildflowers and enjoy the abundance of wildlife along the trail.

The hike will be May 11 from 10 a.m until noon at the park’s Ash Canyon trailhead, located in the lower campground, weather permitting.

All are invited, and the cost for the hike is free. However, there is a $5 entrance fee for every vehicle to enter the park.

Remember to dress appropriate, wear good shoes for hiking and bring plenty of drinking water as the trail is a little more than three miles long and moderately difficult.
