LAS VEGAS, NV – The Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR) announced a successful update of its unemployment insurance (UInv) website (http://ui.nv.gov). The agency also added and launched a performance feature on the 18th that affords filers another option to reset their online password 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
In a collaborative effort with Arisant, one of its partners, DETR created a password recovery page. This page is tailored to help users that have an existing account in the system but have forgotten their password or password recovery questions. The password recovery screen is accessed after the filer enters their username on the “Claimant Login” screen. Filers simply click on a link and are then forwarded to the password recovery page. This new online feature is in addition to the existing password form located at http://gov.nv.gov/Forms/Unemployment/
“We recognize the password challenges filers are experiencing and have implemented this new password feature as part of our commitment to client access. This additional capability will allow users to reset their passwords quickly and easily without the direct assistance of UI staff,” said DETR director, Dr. Tiffany Tyler- Garner.
To file for unemployment in the State of Nevada, filers can use the online application available 24/7 at http://ui.nv.gov/css.html. Claimants are highly encouraged to use the internet to file their UI claims and reserve the phone lines for individuals who are not able or do not have the necessary resources to file online. Online filing during non-peak hours, such as early mornings, at night or weekends is also highly recommended.
Online filers are reminded of the recently implemented online filing system for Nevadans seeking to file initial or weekly claims. The new system announced last week, is organized by last names and is aimed at providing quicker results for Nevadans seeking to gain access to unemployment benefits. The new system was operational this past Sunday. Claimants are also reminded to file weekly to continue to receive benefits.
Last names A-K are asked to file on Sundays. Last names L-R are asked to file on Mondays. Last names S-Z are asked to file on Tuesday. Wednesday through Saturday are open for all claim types including weekly filing.
DETR encourages claimants to visit http://ui.nv.gov/css.html and at https://detr.nv.gov/Page/COVID-19_(Coronavirus)_Information_for_Claimants_and_Employers to view important announcements and access essential resources. Online tutorial videos are also available in both English and Spanish and can be viewed on the Nevada Unemployment Insurance YouTube page.
When will self employed/independent/ gig workers be able to apply ?
I filed last month on the 23rd. It was denied but it’s in the system at least
You should write a letter to appeal you claim if you were denied. Check your MY DOCUMENTS when you sign in on your unemployment account if you do not have the first correspondence they sent you. You can either fax the letter or mail it for reconsideration.
I live in Las Vegas, NV and have been out of work since the lockdown began. I’ve filed online initially and was deemed ineligible due to the fact that I filed maybe a day or 2 before the implementation of the COVID19 initiatives were approved. I cannot correct anything online and I’m required to call in their call center. For the past 3 maybe 4 weeks I’ve been on the phone calling every single number available only to receive a busy signal. This goes on from 8AM PST up until I hear the recorded message that the call center has closed. So for 8-9 hours straight? I literally dial back to back and encounter a busy signal each time. I am receiving no Pandemic Relief, I’m out of work and looking for a job, I’m also going through virtual interviews with prospective employers and maintaining the requirements of social distancing and all other guidelines required. My savings has depleted, I have no one to contact officially that can give me any answers, what do I do here?
Same thing with me . Applied 2 days before it was approved for the self employed. I dont know what to do. I received a debit card. No money
Maybe you have to start filing a weekly claim before you get funds on your debit card if you qualify
No, I’ve been doing that…they havent gotten to the self employed people yet
I need to speak with someone@umployment. My name is not correct & the system on line is saying that I need approval from the DETR before my claim can get accepted. I have been calling since March 20th. Please help.
They need to work on pending claims. I applied on March 16 and reported that I will be receiving a two week pay from my employer. I faxed my last pay stub on April 6, I sent three email after that to the internethelp@detr.nv.gov. I also tried to call everyday when they open at 8am but as soon as I get connected around 9am the queue are always full for the day and that they do not accept anymore calls for the day. It is so frustrating!
What the DETR need to do is focus on some phone numbers that we can actually get thru on. 775.684.0350 will ting 5 times and then turn to a busy signal. 702.486.0350 just doesmt ring and drops your call. 888.890.8211 is bisy all the time. Ive been trying since 3.18.20 and NOT ONE TIME HAS MY CALL GOTTEN THRU. My husbands claim is exhausted and need to speak to someone. What happened to the new people they hired. Doesnt feel like anyone is answering the pbone! Im getting to think Gov. SISOLAK doesnt care if we eat or not! Stop worrying about when youre going to open up Nevada just focus on opening up some more phone lines so people dont start rioting!!! Im sure Gov. Sisolak or Ms Young have to worry they have a paycheck!! Stop focusing on stupid stuff!! Really Come on get with it. People are struggling as it is and now having to deal with busy phones really???!!!!.
I’m having the same problem! We have had no income since 3/26 and have not received stimulus payments. Can’t someone please help?????
