Two teachers receive VFW awards

VFW Post 7114 Commander Larry Wimsatt presented “Teacher of the Year 2019-2020” plaques and certificates from the VFW and Department of Nevada to JoLin Schimbeck and Gretchen Soderborg Oct. 7 for outstanding performance as teachers. 

Principal Raymond Wadsworth accepted the certificates on behalf of Panaca Elementary. Pete Peterson nominated the educators last year, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the VFW only received the plaques recently. Each teacher also received a check for $100. Congratulations, and thank you to these two teachers and to all the teachers in Lincoln County.
