The 5th Annual Interfaith Community Day of Prayer was held in Rose Memorial Park in Caliente Nov. 1.
Usually held at the fire station, this year the event was held outside, with churches from throughout the country gathering to sing and pray for leaders in our country, county and towns. Leading this year was Maggie Orr, with Karen Culverwell doing the music. Beginning with “My Country, ’Tis Of Thee,” conducted by Brenda Young, prayers from individual bishops and pastors from area churches were offered between the songs.
Holy Child Catholic Church performed “Alleluia,” which had the audience singing along.
Andy Robinson sang “What a Friend We Have In Jesus.”
Young sang a prelude to “God Bless America” that brought the crowd to their feet, showing Lincoln County’s spirit of camaraderie.
